Jenny Bell Oranga

About Jenny

Jenny Bell is a highly experienced and qualified educator working in both primary and school sectors for many years.

During her time as a Resource Teacher of Learning & Behaviour she was extremely concerned by the number of referrals for children presenting with elevated levels of anxiety. This led Jenny to explore what evidenced based intervention and prevention programmes were available to support and build children’s emotional resilience and wellbeing.

Jenny believes that the way to move forward is to focus on prevention and resilience building, providing children, parents, teachers and others with the necessary coping skills to make each community stronger in the face of adversity.

She is a licenced facilitator and trainer of the internationally renowned FRIENDS programs. All of Jenny Bell Oranga FRIENDs facilitators are police vetted and personally trained by Jenny.

How do the workshops help my child?

All children experience anxiety as part of their normal development, but some need a bit of extra help learning how to deal with it. Our programme will help your child build resilience, confidence and emotional well-being.  The programs are helpful if you child struggles with shyness, social withdrawal, perfectionism, appetite changes, difficulty in resting or going to sleep or persistent worry about upcoming events.

Our programs are endorsed by World Health Organisation as making a difference!

  • My Friends Youth assists youth in developing life-skills to effectively cope with difficult and/or anxiety-provoking situations

Physical environment

We have two centres; Auckland and Hamilton.

Our Auckland centre is based at Mercy Spirituality Centre, 104 The Drive, Epsom.  A lovely meeting room in a restful garden setting, creating a welcoming and relaxed environment for families.

Our Hamilton centre is at Jenny Bell Oranga, 60 St James Drive, Rotouna, Hamilton. A lovely townhouse in a restful garden setting, creating a welcoming and relaxed environment for families.

We also see children either individually or small groups in their school environment.

A warm and welcoming environment is a key factor for working with our children and families.

With our private clients, we can also work closely with parents to empower them with the knowledge to increase their child’s social and emotional resilience.

When working with children in the school setting it is not always possible to catch up with parents but all parents do receive a comprehensive parent information booklet about the key strategies and skills we cover in each session, along with some suggestions as to how they can reinforce these skills in the home or community settings.

Give us a ring or drop us a line and we will get in touch with you as soon as we can!
