Child’s Time Penrose

About Us

We recognise the family as the most important people in children’s lives and foster respectful partnerships and ensure we recognise parent’s aspirations for their child.

We provide high staff to child ratios and environment sizes that exceed Ministry of Education requirements. Our teachers are passionate about providing an inclusive, friendly environment where children can reach their full potential through praise, sensitivity and respect. A qualified teacher in our centre has had a minimum of three years training in the field of early childhood and can discuss our curriculum with you further at any time.

How we help children

We feel privileged to play an integral role in your child's learning and development. Our aim is to function as an extended family to provide your child with the security, warmth and love which are essential to their development and growth.

We welcome family involvement in our programs, social events, policy and procedures, and decisions. We support, empower, nurture and inspire children on their learning journey. We acknowledge cultural diversity and respect our families’ values and beliefs.

The six months prior to a child’s start at Primary School is an important stage in both the child’s and family’s life. We offer a transition to school programme that will help support families with this move. We have made links with the local schools and can support school visits or give you contact and school information and help you make the introductions. Your individual portfolios are a great tool to give to your child’s new entrant teacher.

Our physical environment

Our modern, purpose-built facility offers separate areas for nursery, preschool, prep school, reading room and an indoor gym area. Due to the large size of the play area we have been able to design an intriguing, challenging, natural outdoor area that will keep the busiest pre-schoolers enchanted. To enhance these learning experiences, we weave music, dance and physical play every day into our programme through the extensive use of our new indoor gym room.

We are open Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and located next to Bailey Road School with plenty of parking available.

Being a privately-owned centre we understand the importance of good relationships with parents. We strongly focus on communication and pride ourselves on our relationships with parents. We are always available to listen to feedback and are committed to quality education and care for all children at Child’s Time.
