Assessments, education & treatment
Your developing child’s foot differs from the mature adult foot. During this time, they present with a different array of injury and developmental characteristics. With the onset of Type II diabetes and technology playing a large role for inactivity, the aim at Bigfoot is to keep kids active and pain free to ensure a healthy lifestyle.
We have been working with children for 20 years and enjoy sharing our expertise in-store at children’s specialist shoe stores Future Feet and Stomp Kids Shoes. Providing assessments, education and treatment for children from ages 1-12, we are there to help with a wide range of leg and foot issues. We also offer shoe advice and the best insole/orthotic options for your child.
What does Bigfoot do
- Assist you, the parent or caregiver, in understanding the key developmental milestones we would expect to see from your child at differing ages
- Advise and treat where necessary flat feet, in-toeing, curly toes, toe walking, early onset bunions and common pain seen in the heel and knee
- Educate on growing pains and provide footwear advice for medical and non-medical conditions
Our professional rooms are situated in three areas across Auckland – North Shore, Central (Greenlane) and East (Howick). Off street parking is available, allowing easy access.
You will be greeted by our friendly staff at reception before being introduced to a caring podiatrist who will listen and work with you to get the best possible outcome for your family. Every member of our team is honest and enthusiastic and genuinely wants to help.
Getting sound education and advice will ease your concerns about your child’s development issues. Pain in children is not normal and needs to be addressed.
