Your child will be encouraged to learn and grow in a safe and enriching environment that recognises and appreciates your child’s individuality.
In the baby area, we cater for 25 babies from 3 months to 2.5 years old. This area is separated into two rooms – non-walkers and walkers. We understand that your baby is totally dependent on others so we provide a predictable, secure and calm environment for their growth and development. The infants’ outdoor environment runs alongside the end of the Preschool and Toddler outdoor environment so children have opportunities to interact with each other - this also allows siblings to still communicate with each other throughout the day.
The Toddlers area caters for children from age 2.5 to 3.5 years old. We know that your toddler is energetic, curious and on the move so we provide an environment that presents challenges and opportunities for independent exploration.
The Toddlers and Preschool children share an outdoor environment. Your child will have free indoor/ outdoor access throughout the day.
The environment is designed to interest, engage and challenge your child in many different ways. Adjacent to the infant environment, Toddlers and Preschool children can participate in taking care of our vegetable garden.
The Preschool area caters for children approximately 3.5 to 5 years old.
Your preschooler is learning to make sense of the world, developing literacy, numeracy and social skills and discovering who they are. We provide a complex learning environment for both individual and group experiences.
We have been blessed with the use of the neighboring grass field, which we visit frequently. This area provides us with a natural environment where your child can explore and run around. Mainly used during the summer months, the grass field is used for picnics, bear hunts, running races, ball playing and much more.
The kitchen is situated between the preschool and toddler rooms. Our cook will provide your child with healthy homemade meals and baking approved by the Healthy Heart Foundation. As a centre, we are constantly teaching our children about healthy eating. Your child will have free access to water throughout the day and be given opportunities to be involved in cooking experiences.
Helping you and your child make a smooth transition
Once enrolled with Apples, we encourage you to visit the centre with your child as many times as you can so they can become familiar with the centre and staff before you leave them on their own. Staff will learn as much as they can about your child’s needs before they start, to ensure a smooth transition for both you and your child.
When your child begins attending on their own, we encourage you to phone the centre or email us for reassurance that your child is settled. We will always be honest and communicate with you regularly about how the transition is going.
As a parent you can feel secure in knowing your child is well cared for every day at Apples, in a clean and safe learning environment. We value our parents and encourage your participation and feedback.
